Aztalan State Park
This past weekend we visited one of my favorite spots in Wisconsin, Aztalan State Park. The rich history and significant archaeology at this state park remain one of our best kept secrets. This location is on the registry of National Historic Landmarks. The founders of Aztalan were of Cherokee and Cahokia lineage. (The Cahokia mounds in Missouri are a protected UNESCO World Heritage site; it’s importance is that of the city of Machu Piccu, and the great pyramids.)
