Top Card (Row 1): the Wheel of Fortune (reversed)

You don’t have to be a card reader to understand this one! The Wheel of Fortune shows up when we’re at a turning point. This card shows the reverse in our spread, calling out our nation’s poor and outdated habits. It highlights a need for a change. Many believe this election is a turning point, deciding whether we choose to regress into unhelpful but familiar behavior, or move ahead and learn from those mistakes. Only we can decide.

True character of each candidate

Row 2 (Left) Five of Swords – Donald Trump

You can’t make this stuff up folks. If you’ve had a reading with me and seen this card, you know I refer to it as one that gives me the ‘ick’ because it symbolizes trickster and thievery energy. The suit of swords is an air element, tied to communication and strategy. Five of Swords indicates a person is not agreeable and a sore loser in battle. Because their ego is fragile they will intentionally deceive and step on toes to try and push their way into a victory. This card shows up when someone can’t let go of something and may choose to gaslight or harm another before dealing with their own evident humiliation. They may aggressively compete, degrade their integrity through sketchy confrontation, and lose respect by time-wasting tactics. You can be confident in this person having a significant loss, but define ‘loss’. They may strain their relationships on the way out, burn bridges, or cause delays. You can expect hostility, assault, and even violent behavior. This person would rather burn down the village than admit they were wrong.
One of the best things he could do after this election is use tact… Moving on is usually the best strategy when this card is drawn. Will he listen? If January 6th is any indication he may attempt another coup, additional lawsuits, or disperse misinformation.

This five of swords wants to be a winner at any cost. However, the rest of the world is ready to move on. Fighting about whether he is fit to lead a nation has already concluded in our minds, but have they stopped in his? He would be better off saving his breath, as he may severely burn himself out.

Row 2 (Right) The Hierophant (reversed) – Kamala Harris

What most are concerned about with Kamala is whether she will continue supporting the genocide in Gaza. The Hierophant reversed indicates she is someone who will support liberation, and challenge what has been considered ‘normal’. With a card that ties into our moral fiber, philosophy, and spiritual health, this indicates she might surprise us. Kamala is a Libra, that we know for sure. Her life has been dedicated to fighting for the rights of others. While she has had to make sacrifices to gain access to spaces people like her were never a part of before, she is someone who will not leave others behind. Puritanical voting is not something we have the luxury of affording at this moment in time.
Because the United States is currently wrapping up its Pluto Return, the fact that we have her in this election reflects the possibility of some seriously big positive changes. Almost like a rebirth for the United States. Voters who are concerned about her as a leader should know that this is not an election we can instill puritanical morals into. Radicals and activists who have been at it for years know that we are choosing an opponent to the people. We will always be fighting for a better world. Who do we want to put pressure on for further change? I would personally choose her. Knowing she’s a Libra indicates she will work for peace and justice.

Potential outcome for each respective candidate

Row 3(Left) Knight of Pentacles (reversed) – Donald Trump

The Knight of Pentacles warns Trump that it is time to take a break from the habits and way of living that he has become so used to. Financial issues could be exposed, based upon a foundation that was not built sustainably. Knights are usually fighting on behalf of a royal court, in order to colonize and secure rule. This card could also indicate that he failed at a conquest on behalf of those that will keep his pockets lined. How will that affect his strategy forward?
There is one transit in Donald Trump’s astrological chart that I’ve been thinking about the past couple years. Pluto is transiting opposite his natal Saturn. This can cause several things to come to the forefront: health concerns, burnout, financial pressure, tax issues, and loan repayments. This could force a person to cut back on spending or downsize their lifestyle. At the same time, external forces such as rules, laws, or authority, may limit his ability to make choices or take action as freely as he’d like.
This transit culminates when years of negligent decisions influence life direction. If someone shows abusive or controlling behavior in the past, this transit brings confrontations, losses, and enemies. It may push the person to require spiritual growth and focus less on material concerns. Historically this hasn’t happened with this candidate. Perhaps the money he owes, or the sentencing that is soon to occur, will give us closure, and he can be on his way to…healing.

Row 3 (Right) Eight of Cups (reversed) – Kamala Harris

Whenever I read tarot for someone and this card comes up, I’ll ask them if there is a situation that looks good on paper, but doesn’t honor or emotionally support who they are. Then I ask if they are ready to confront or walk away from that relationship or situation. Typically they are avoiding it for some reason. They hope they can make a difference, or they are waiting to see if anything changes. They might even believe they are not good enough to move on and go about it alone.
So when I see this card for Kamala, it makes me think she may have a difficult time feeling supported and seen. She might be so overwhelmed by the lack of support from this election, that she could battle internally with her ‘why’. It would be wise for her to move away from systemic norms. Especially given the Hierophant reversed and Wheel of Fortune reversed are major indicators in this spread. We might see some stagnation and fear based behavior coaxing her backwards. But it is important for us to show up and speak up as a people, if we truly want changes made. She will need to listen to her internal compass to allow intuition to guide her forward.
She may feel disrespected by patriarchal counterparts in her orbit after all is said and done. What will redeem her is literally stepping away from their course and leading in a different way. Not getting wrapped up in appearances, and getting right down to transparent business is going to bring her into alignment. This is one of those cards that come up when our own intuition is needed to take the next courageous step forward. We may not know the path ahead, but we know that each step will take us away from what is NOT working! Let’s hope she can pull that off, instead of carrying on another disappointing and centrist presidential legacy. I think we’re ready to see it happen here, especially after witnessing the beauty and power of Mexico’s election!

Row 4 (Left) 6 of Wands – Donald Trump

I think this is pretty obvious, but the Six of Wands shows when someone’s confidence is their strength. Donald Trump is used to getting his way by using narcissistic traits, if you’ve read the Art of the Deal you understand. The other advantage here is the dedication and loyalty of his supporters. We saw how he leveraged large crowds to attack the Capitol on January 6th. After watching American Insurrection, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see militia type followers, or even internal agents, organizing to attempt a takeover, if losing.

Row 4 (Right) 10 of Swords (reversed) – Kamala Harris

With Ten of Swords showing up, Harris is going to have to look past the baloney and create her own closure. She is no stranger to adversity and resistance to change. She will need to make sure her campaign staff is crystal clear on priorities and communication during this time. This is a card that reflects surviving a disaster. She’ll need to make sure she has great support so she can hit the ground running and not look back. She is sharp mentally. So as long as she does not dwell and can process everything, she’ll be moving us through the ending of a difficult era and bringing us into a new one. She literally symbolizes the changes our nation is ready for. But will we commit?

What is Our Role?

Top Row – 10 of Cups

As a nation our responsibility is to act with compassion and love. Supporting one another, and staying close to each other. Ten of Cups asks us to embody what it means to BE love. Our job is to be a good friend right now and to support each other, in community. That is a tall order after all of the destructive divisiveness we’ve survived. We’re turning a corner and our nation is looking for unity and care. Emotional contentment. Envision that and act on it!

Knight of Cups – Keep yourself emotionally grounded and stable. Use your emotional support resources to stay the course. Wear your heart on your sleeve and move forward, but don’t lose your balance.

Three of Wands – What would you create if things were different? Find the intersection through your passions. Use that idea as your motivator to make changes in your own world. Expand your horizons and dream from a place of curiosity. Be that dreamer and then go make it happen in your community!

Two of Pentacles (reversed) – Take it easy and don’t put too much on your plate during this time. You need to maintain focus and a grounded simple routine. If you need to change your habits like reducing screen time and social media, or resting more versus working, do it. This time period is not ‘normal’ for anyone to live through. You have nothing to prove. Mistakes are likely if you push too hard.

The Lovers (reversed) – Don’t be afraid of confronting what you want to commit to now. The past is in the past. If you want to do things differently now, you should do it. You will most likely resolve a lot of internal conflict by confronting your personal fears by making your own choice in this election. You could develop closer bonds with the people in your life if you are honest with your internal compass. If you are partnered, know that you are an independent human being and you have the freedom to vote for what is best for you!

Outcome for us – 3 of Pentacles

This isn’t Kamala’s country or Trump’s country. This is the people’s country. We are witnessing how collective liberation is possible via participation. We wouldn’t have so many trying to suppress our rights, if it weren’t reaching a turning point. Collaboration is not optional any longer. All of us have a part in continuing to shape and carve this world we live in. You just need to make sure you infuse it into how you live everyday and not worry so much about labels.

Astrologically, our nation will be entering a huge phase of healing in 2025, when the United States experiences it’s Chiron return. Pluto will also finally station direct in the sign of Aquarius beginning November 19th, 2024. Leaving the sign of Capricorn. Altruistic qualities, support of power re-distribution, and growing patience, are all going to be key elements to your survival. We are entering a deeply rooted rebirth and transformation process. Americans will have to be diligent to fight for our right to speak out, and to support humanitarian initiatives. We’ll also find an intense technological and data shift in the coming years. 2025 is a 9 year numerology-wise, which signals actualization. Not just thinking or fighting anymore, actually setting the course. It is the next phase. An intelligent and meaningful evolution, which could bring closure through learning and growth. The motto “When We All Do Better, We All Do Better” is a simplistic way of looking at it. How will you participate?
